Fran’s first sales success was at age 14 as a clerk in a local pharmacy. She then went on to retail and restaurant sales, always being promoted quickly to a leadership role. Upon graduating from Syracuse University with a BS in Rehab Counseling, Fran secured a position as a Counselor in a lock up facility in Boston treating psychotic adolescents. Two years later she worked as a counselor in a women’s halfway house where she was eventually promoted to Director and founded her own women’s program for substance abusers.
Then. six years later Fran went back to sales and began her thirty-year career in recruiting. Fran launched a temp division for a leading Boston perm agency and then became Regional Manager for an international staffing corporation. In 1993, Fran founded Gold Staff Consultants, a blended firm which quickly grew to over $4 million. Her leadership, training, and mentoring led to speaking and training opportunities. In 2004, Fran sold her staffing division and launched FranSpeaks, her full time consulting and training business.
Throughout Fran’s career, she has volunteered on both state and national boards as Director, Vice President, and President. She has won many awards for her leadership, from organizations like, the National Association of Personnel Services, Massachusetts Association of Personnel Services, and Massachusetts Staffing Association.
Fran’s passion for writing has also become her new hobby and she has published numerous articles including in publications like HireAbility, Bullhorn, RecruitingLife, and Women’s Business. She speaks internationally at both keynotes and breakout sessions.
Fran and her husband Robert live in Winchester, Mass and enjoy their home in Wellfleet, Mass as well.
Currently Fran is President Elect for the National Speakers Association of New England and was the recipient of the 2008 David Fitzgerald Spirit award, in recognition for her leadership, spirit, and commitment.
